Dr Hernández Garrido is “Ramón y Cajal” Senior Research Fellow in the Department of Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering and Inorganic Chemistry at the University of Cadiz, Spain.
His scientific interests are in the field of Materials Chemistry, with attention to the design and development of multi-functional catalytic nanosystems for their advanced applications in energy related material science and environmental heterogeneous catalysis, with special emphasis in the characterization of these nanostructured materials by advanced electron microscopy techniques.
He joined University of Cadiz in 2010 after a Research Associate position in the Department of Materials Science and Metallurgy at the University of Cambridge (United Kingdom). Prior to this he graduated from University of Cadiz in Chemistry and was then awarded a PhD in electron microscopy investigations of catalytic based ceria-zirconia materials with Outstanding Honours degree (2007).
