Prof. Dr. Martin Sterrer
Instit. Physics, Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz, Austria
Prof. Dr. Martin SterrerMartin Sterrer is a physicist with chemistry background who studies nanoscale phenomena on surfaces both in ultrahigh vacuum and ambient/liquid conditions. He is head of the Surface and Interface Science group at the University of Graz, Austria, with 13 multi-technique instruments for nanoscience research.
His main research interests are the self-assembly and growth or organic molecules on metal and oxide surfaces, the growth of ultrathin oxide films, model catalysis and the preparation of model catalysts, and surface electrochemistry. He is author and co-author of ~90 journal articles and book chapters and received an ERC starting grant in 2011.
