Prof. Dr. H. Fabio Busnengo
IFIR-CONICET, Univ. Nac. Rosario, Argentina
Prof. Dr. Heriberto Fabio BusnengoH. Fabio Busnengo studied at the University of Rosario (Argentina) where he started working on theory of high energy ion-atom and ion-molecule collisions and obtained the PhD degree in Physics in 1997. In 1998 he moved to France for a three-year post-doc during which he started working on molecule-surface dynamics in the Laboratoire de Physicochimie Moléculaire (today part of the Institut des Sciences Moléculaires), University of Bordeaux.
In 2001, he returned to Argentina, and now leads the group “Physical-Chemistry at Interfaces and Nanostructures” (http://www.ifir-conicet.gov.ar/PhysChem_Interfaces_Nano) in the Rosario Physics Institute (Instituto de Física Rosario: http://www.ifir-conicet.gov.ar), being Principal Researcher (Investigador Principal) of CONICET (the National Scientific and Technological Research Council of Argentina) and Associate Professor of the Physics Department of the Facultad de Ciencias Exactas, Ingeniería y Agrimensura of the University of Rosario.
His research activities focus on simulation of elementary steps of chemical reactions on surfaces based on first principles calculations as well as the study of structure, stability and reactivity of self-assembled monolayers of organic molecules on surfaces. He has co-authored about 100 articles published in international scientific journals and keeps active collaboration activities with theoretical and experimental groups of France, Spain, Switzerland, Germany, United States, Holland, and other Universities of Argentina.
